Mark Bo Chu is a painter of the everyday. His work has appeared in The New York Times, Vice, and ABC. He is a past writer for the Good Food Guide and co-hosts the show Third Place on Secondz.

This collection, The Hand That Feeds, observes hospitality spaces across Melbourne, focussing on hands as tools and symbols. Hands pass menus, engage cutlery, clutch, carry and pour. They also make rituals, express language, and demonstrate ambience. Gratitude is observed between patron, staff and artist. The painter’s hand is also evident through gestural marks, and in Chu’s signature textures and colours.
